We keep yields small, harvest and select grapes carefully by hand and ferment them slowly in high-grade steel tanks and oak barrels.
70% of our wines are vinified dry, from the Kabinett to the Riesling Grosses Gewächs (Grand cru). These dry Rieslings are wines with an unique mineral character and outstanding aging potential.
The sweet selection of wines with an animating play of sweetness and acidity completes our white wine offer.
Our portfolio is not 100 % classic Mosel, as 30 % of our wines are red, mainly from the Pinot Noir variety, which matures in 1.000 and 225 l oak barrels. We also grow Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. We are particularly proud of the praise our Pinots have received. The Feinschmecker Wine Guide, for example, writes already in 2011 „Untypical for the Mosel is the high proportion of Spätburgunder at the estate, a quarter of the area under vine. The red classics, mostly vinified in barrique, are aromatic and juicy – proof that they exist, red wines from the Mosel that can be recommended.“ And the Eichelmann (2018) adds: „As far as red wine is concerned, Regnery is the yardstick on the Mosel.“
The outstanding quality of our wines has been acknowledged through a series of awards, distinctions and praise from renowned wine critics, such as the Vinum, Feinschmecker and Gault Millau Wine Guide, Jancis Robinson, Eichelmann (***), Decanter Award (*****) and several Gold Medals at the Berlin and Asia Wine Trophy. In 2001 our estate has named the best Riesling producer of the Mosel region.
